It’s no secret that Starbucks is SUPER popular pretty much all over the country and that they’ve got A LOT of drinks that are pretty much amazing.  In fact, I’m probably the number one fan for the pumpkin spice latte icon smile Cinnamon Mocha Vanilla Almond Power Smoothie

On a side note …

Last November is when I was introduced to the Pumpkin Spice Latte.  I started out very skeptical because I was strictly a coffee drinker and didn’t want to be caught with one of those “sissy latte drink” that I saw so many people order.  Well, I took my first sip and it hit me … BAM!

PumpkinSpiceLatte Cinnamon Mocha Vanilla Almond Power SmoothieI realized that this Pumpkin Latte thing was friggin’ awesome!  I was like … “why didn’t anyone tell me about this thing sooner!!!”  It quickly become an every-other-day ritual first thing in the morning, and then quickly morphed into an everyday ritual.  AHHHHHH!

Needless to say, the Pumpkin Spice Latte introduction then led to the Eggnog Latte introduction, which then led to me falling victim to the Starbucks Sugar Trap.

Also needless to say, I packed on a QUICK 10 pounds of soft, blubbery fat that I ended up having to work my ass off to lose in one of my 6-Week Total Body Transformations.

Back to the point …

So it’s also no secret that pretty much everything on the menu (with the exception of coffee) at Starbucks is only good for one of two things (which I proved in my November & December Latte Friendship):

  • extra belly rolls
  • saggy saddlebags

Don’t get me wrong, Starbucks is great, and the atmosphere is also great when you need to get out of the house or office and go somewhere where you can plow through some work, or just relax.  It is not, as I have personally proven, a haven for fitness buffs and healthy foods.

That’s where I come in to save your day and give you a HEALTHY alternative!

The GREAT news is that this bad boy packs only 150 total calories, 100 of which are from muscle-building protein.

  • 1 scoop of low-carb, vanilla protein powder
  • 1 HEAPING teaspoon of instant coffee
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 6 oz. of almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 4 oz. of crushed ice

Blend it all up (in yours or your neighbor’s blender) and enjoy!
